Carey Handley began her Graphic Design career in 1994 when she was an expatriate living in Cairo, Egypt. Running a support group for new mothers and combining her love of writing with lifelong creativity, she added a monthly publication which she wrote, designed and distributed to expatriates. When returning to The States in 1996, she accepted a job as Graphic Designer for a local retail business. After four years of working for this company, she formed Page by Page Publishing in January 2000, which later became Page by Page Graphic Design. She has worked with numerous clients in a variety of industries including real estate, Chambers of Commerce, country clubs, photographers, salons and other individual and corporate businesses. Carey enjoys the challenge of elevating her clients’ collateral materials while retaining their personalities and focus for their businesses through design and professional printing. Utilizing various wholesale and retail printers gives her access to many different types of unique paper types and coatings and helps keep costs low for her clients. She has won several design awards from industry powerhouse David E. Carter. She is also a published author both stateside and abroad. The most rewarding aspect of her business is seeing the exuberance of her clients when she presents the finished product and hears how great design and professional printing makes a difference in the way her clients are perceived by their customers. She also produces jobs for individuals and has created wedding programs, holiday cards, unique party invitations and personal calling cards and note cards.
Giving back to the community has been an important focus for Page by Page Graphic Design owner, Carey Handley. For six years, she and her exceptional Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Godiva Handley, visited schools (including several schools for children with Special Needs), nursing homes, scout troops, day care centers and even an acting studio as part of a national Therapy Dog Program through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (formerly Therapy Dogs, Inc.) and Tender Loving K-9’s to bring comfort and companionship to others. She also participated in a R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dog) Program through Intermountain Therapy Animals. Accruing over 200 visits in six years, Godiva Handley achieved the rank of Therapy Dog Excellent through the American Kennel Club (AKC). Godiva recently retired from Therapy Dog work due to health issues but the experience had a profound impact on both the human and canine members of this Therapy Dog team in addition to the hundreds of adults and children who were touched by these visits. Godiva and Carey were featured in articles in the Houston Chronicle and Katy Magazine. Godiva now spends her days playing big sister to Caddie Caramel and snuggling on the couch with her human.
